Decline of Hockey in Pakistan: A Survey Research

Purpose of this study is to know why the importance of hockey has declined in Pakistan. Pakistani team won gold medal in 1960, silver in 1964 again won Gold medal in 1968. In this way Pakistan had won many other medals and prizes in this game but suddenly the game has declined in its popularity in Pakistan. The research methodology is based on quantitative research approach. A self-administered questionnaire was used to collect data. Then researcher has analyzed the data collected by questionnaire from the viewers. The population of the study was students of the different Universities of Punjab. The data was collected from male and female students studying in the different Universities of Bahawalpur. Descriptive statistics (percentage, frequency, and standard deviation) were utilized to analyze the collected survey data. Researcher fined the few results after the analysis, that 63% including males and female are in view there is need of built new astro trough grounds in Pakistan and channels should introduced. Results show 54% population asked media in not taking in test in hockey. To build new astro trough, and appoint trained staff, facilitate the player with good reward, funds should be provide at due time 78% population agree with that statement.so managements of hockey should do these changes for improvement of hockey.
